Government to include more crops in BBY

Chandigarh – In view of the immense success of the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna (BBY) launched for vegetable and the overwhelming response of the farmers towards this scheme during the last two years in the state, the Haryana Government has decided to include some more crops in this scheme.
The Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal announced this while presiding over a review meeting of the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojna (BBY) held here today. Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. V. Umashankar, Director General (DG) Horticulture and DG, Agriculture were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting the Chief Minister said that that in the past two years as the as the impact of this scheme was very successful therefore along with potato, onion, tomato and cabbage, now carrots, peas, kinnow, guava, capsicum and brinjal will also be included under the BBY. He said that under the scheme, the price of carrots has been fixed at Rs 700 per quintal and peas Rs 1100 per quintal. The Chief Minister further said that the rate of capsicum and brinjal will be decided on the recommendation of the committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the Chairman of Haryana Kisan Kalyan Ayog.
He said that for getting the scheme benefits, the State farmers have to register themselves on Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal and if they get a lower price than the preserved price for their crop on the sale of their produce in the mandis, the difference will be paid as incentive to the farmers directly into their bank account.
