Rewari : Wärtsilä India’s CSR project at the Government Senior Secondary School in Karnawas village in Bawal, Haryana successfully concludes. It was undertaken to address the issue of insufficient infrastructure and lack of water and sanitation facilities at the school. This project was undertaken as part of Wärtsilä’s CSR initiative ‘Gyan’ which aims to support the education of underprivilege section of society and improve school infrastructure in the backward areas.
The project scope included development of a congenial atmosphere in the school for the holistic development of its students. For this, the initiative’s first phase focused at strengthening the infrastructure like class rooms, school building, sanitary facilities, playground, drinking water facility and furniture. The second phase, to be undertaken shortly, would focus on computer literacy and skill training, including soft skill training.
Commenting on the conclusion of the first phase, Ms. Manju Pawar – Principal, Government Senior Secondary School said, “The work done by Wärtsilä and its intention to contribute to the betterment of the society remains admirable. Work undertaken was very essential for the betterment of students, for which the school management and students are thankful to Wärtsilä.”
